Sixth Form » Virtual Induction Day
Welcome to Hayes School Sixth Form Virtual Induction Day. We hope you are excited to be joining the Hayes Sixth Form community as of September and that you are ready to immerse yourself in your subjects and all that being a Hayes Sixth Former can bring. The idea of the virtual induction day is to provide you with an insight into what a day in the life of a sixth form student is. Unfortunately we are unable to do this face-to-face but hope that the resources you find below will be able to provide you with guidance and support in taking your next step in your education here at Hayes.
The structure of our induction day is an assembly, a tour of the school facilities, information regarding enrolment and undertaking an induction lesson within your chosen subjects.
The welcome assembly will explain to you all about life here at Hayes. It will introduce you to the sixth form team, the pathways in which you can take through the school and potential next steps after you leave in two years’ time.
One of the main concerns for students joining Hayes is finding their way around the school site. Please click on the link below which will open our virtual tour of the school. Here you will be able to see where your selected subjects will be taught, information regarding the extra-curricular activities on offer and the facilities you can access as a Sixth Form Student here at Hayes. The presentation below will provide you with information regarding the procedure on GCSE results days as well as how to enrol here at Hayes. We will email all applicants on GCSE results day asking them to log in to their online application. You can contact us on 6thAdmissions@hayes.bromley.sch.uk should you need any assistance on GCSE results day.
Each subject has created an induction lesson which is designed to give you an insight into their subject. They will also be setting you some work to undertake which they will want to see in your first lesson in the next academic year. These lessons are will give you information regarding what you will study and show you what study at KS5 is like. We suggest you try all of the subjects that you have selected to do. If you are still considering your options we would recommend that you try the subjects you are considering to aid you in making your mind up. Some subjects have provided resources which you can find below. Others have provided links to online resources. This is detailed below.
