We recognise that our Year 10 students have experienced disruption to their GCSE studies this year but want to reassure students of the learning they have completed prior to the school closure, the learning they have completed through remote learning and of the curriculum planned for next year in Year 11. We will be working with students you in class to assess their knowledge and understanding, revisit and re-teach any areas where they may have gaps in their learning and also to provide valuable exam practice. The postponed Year 10 examinations (mock exams) will be taking place in the Autumn Term and students will receive exam practice in lessons throughout the Autumn Term.
A key attribute of a Hayes Learner is the ability to be reflective. We hope that the Personal Learning Checklists (PLCs) below will enable all our GCSE students to reflect on their learning within each course that they study. The topics and knowledge listed below will provide students with a PLC and we encourage them to take some time during the summer to identify any areas they are less confident with and to look back at class notes and/or online resources on Satchel One (Show My Homework) to help their revision and preparation for next year’s summer examinations. Students will be asked to complete this and submit this to their teachers at the start of next term.
