Head Prefects' Welcome

Welcome from our Head Prefects

We are Kaylin Granada-Ruiz and Sam Carter, and we are delighted to be your Head Prefects for this academic year.

I’m Kaylin, and as a Head Prefect, I hope to make a difference and be ‘your voice’, giving back to this wonderful school and inclusive Hayes environment. As an external joiner to the Sixth Form, upon being welcomed and supported so kindly by the amazing staff, I decided to take the leap and apply for Head Prefect, and I haven’t looked back since. I look forward to working alongside our teachers and Student Council to continue Hayes’ legacy of excellence!

I am studying a diverse range of subjects: Economics, Psychology and Spanish and my journey so far, both academically and socially, has been great! Hayes has so much to offer, from a range of subjects to opportunities which help open doors for your future so you can reach all your goals in life. As part of our dynamic Senior Prefect team, we hope to improve the sustainability of our school as well as online safety to make Hayes as safe and inspiring as ever. As Head Prefect, I look forward to working with our fellow peers, students and teachers to promote and build on our inclusive and aspirational foundations. Sam and I are really looking forward to making our voices heard, to truly make an impact on the school, and we welcome you to be a part of it!

My name is Sam, and I’ve been at Hayes School since Year 7. I have really enjoyed my time here thanks to the hard-working, fantastic teachers who’ve helped me to achieve my potential in all areas of school life. I’m thrilled to be able to give back to the school community that has helped shape me into the person I am today, and I’m eager to use my role to help other students realise the great things they can achieve as members of our fabulous school community by becoming excellent through endeavour.

As a Head Prefect, I hope to encourage others to get involved in school leadership and engage in our wide range of extra-curricular clubs so that they can enjoy this wonderful school for all it has to offer. Another aim of mine is to expand the mentoring scheme to encompass academic needs, enabling students to receive additional support from our dedicated Sixth Formers. I look forward to making a positive change as well as helping to make the Hayes community even more special and inclusive for all pupils and staff.
