Head Prefects' Welcome

Welcome from our Head Prefects 

We are Jacob Fenwick-Read and Grace Iyashere and are delighted to be your Head Prefects for this academic year.

My name is Jacob, and I am proud to be one of the Head Prefects of such an amazing school. Throughout my time at Hayes, I have been supported, challenged and encouraged by teachers and the wider school community, allowing me to fulfil my potential and strive for ‘Excellence through Endeavour’.

As Head Prefect, my goal is to encourage participation across the Hayes community and ensure that others are offered the same opportunities that I have been given. Whether through interform challenges, leadership opportunities, academic mentoring or pastoral support, I hope that every student at Hayes will not only have the opportunity to get involved, but feel encouraged and empowered to take that opportunity.

I am excited to work with students, staff and the wider school community to continue to foster a school where every student feels heard, supported and able to contribute. I hope that, together, we can build on everything that makes Hayes such a special place and make the most of every opportunity available to us.

My name is Grace and I have the privilege of being Head Prefect this year. When I joined Hayes in year 7, I became a part of a community that values kindness and inclusivity above all. The unrivalled dedication from every member of Hayes, is what motivated me to apply to be Head Prefect, so I could give back to such an amazing community.

This year, along with a team of senior prefects, I will be focusing on mental health awareness to ensure that everyone at Hayes feels heard and is aware of the dedicated team of staff that are there to support them.

I look forward to working with everyone this year to continue to build a school that we can all be proud of.
