Head Prefects' Welcome

Welcome from our Head Prefects

We are Bella Basson and Jack Woodyard and we are really delighted to be your Head Prefects for this academic year.

I'm Bella and I am one of your Head Prefects for 2023/2024. As an external joiner to Hayes Sixth Form, having been welcomed and supported so kindly by my fellow students and the inspirational teachers here, I stepped up and applied for Head Prefect. I hope to make a difference, to be ‘your voice’ and give back to this truly wonderful school and inclusive Hayes community.

I am studying four maths-based A levels and thoroughly enjoy mentoring and motivating keen students in KS3 to improve performance and help promote STEM at Hayes. As part of our super dynamic prefect team, we hope to expand the mentoring programme in many areas of academic life but also across music, sport and drama to inspire others across the school. As Head Prefect, I am so lucky to be working alongside this phenomenal Senior Prefect Team. We want to help everyone at Hayes, promoting and building on our inclusive and aspirational foundations. We’re really looking forward to making your voices heard and ideas known, so please if you see us around, come and talk to us! I’m usually the one in a bright coloured blazer!

My name is Jack and I’ve been coming to Hayes School since year 7. In my first year at the school, I was nervous for what was to come, however thanks to the hardworking staff at Hayes I have become the confident young man I am today. I have been given many opportunities to go outside my comfort zone and grow as a person, academically and socially. My goal is to give back to Hayes for what they have done for my confidence and education. I am privileged to be a role model for new and existing students, and to have the honour to provide them with the support necessary to achieve what they are capable of.

I aim to improve the current working environment that the students have, for example improving the study areas, which will prevent students from becoming distracted and help them focus on their work. I also want to allow students to express their identity through participating in clubs - sporting or academic. I also look forward to developing further inclusivity for all students and making Hayes a community where everyone feels involved and supported by one another.
