2026 GCSE, Level 1 and Level 2 Examination Result Headlines

Following the success of our Year 13 students last week, it was the turn of Year 11 students to collect the results of their GCSE, Level 1 and Level 2 examinations today with many individual stories across a number of qualifications to celebrate.

Overall school attainment has risen again at all grade boundaries including a rise in the percentage of grades awarded at grades 4-9, 5-9 and 7-9, with over 80% of all grades at grade 4-9 and over 1 in 3 results in 2026 at a grade 7-9.  The average grade per entry has also risen to a high Grade 5 with our Attainment 8 now at 56.03; our highest post COVID.  

The number of students achieving Grade 4-9 and Grade 5-9 passes in both English and Mathematics is again very strong and well above national benchmarks.  An impressive 81% of the cohort were entered for the EBAC component with 40% of students being awarded a strong pass.  We are incredibly proud of the 176 Grade 9’s achieved by students including 22 in Combined Science, 13 in History and Physics respectively; 12 in Maths and 11 each in Art, Chemistry, English Literature and RE.       

Congratulations to Laura S who achieved 10 Grade 9’s and 1 Grade 8 from her eleven qualifications in total and Will P, Ewan A and Maya V who recorded eight Grade 9’s in their set of results respectively. 

More outstanding attainment came from a further four students including Zellah A, Ava G, Ewa P and Julia R who attained 10 grades at grade 8 or 9.

A special mention also to the additional 16 students listed below who attained 100% grades 7-9; Bridey A, Maya B, Elliot B, James C, Ben D-C, Bella E, Nikol H, Isla K, Eleanor J-P, Reuben P, Amber R, Edgar R, Isabelle S, Isla S, Amelie T and Chayse W
