Hayes Life

Hayes Life Curriculum

At Hayes School, our commitment is to provide moments of joy, support pupils to thrive beyond our gates, and nurture community and character through a curriculum that is conceptual, inclusive and responsive. Our values — kindness, endeavour, inclusivity and responsibility — shape every aspect of this curriculum. They ensure that every pupil, particularly the most disadvantaged and vulnerable, is known, supported and challenged to achieve highly and to flourish in school and beyond.

Purpose

The Hayes Life curriculum aims to equip all students with the knowledge, skills and character needed to lead safe, happy and successful lives, guided by the Hayes Values of Show Up, Own It, Stronger Together and Be Kind. It supports students to develop into confident, respectful and responsible young people who can build healthy relationships and make informed decisions about their lives. Through a comprehensive programme of relationships and sex education, health education, careers education, character education and citizenship, students are prepared for the opportunities and challenges of adulthood. The curriculum encourages a strong sense of community, helping students to contribute positively to society and respect the diversity of others. Underpinned by British Values, it promotes personal wellbeing, resilience, responsibility and active citizenship, enabling students to thrive both in school and beyond.
